Resumen:
La comunidad científica está volcada en conseguir predicciones meteorológicas fiables a largo plazo para prevenir fenómenos adversos que cuestan cada año más de 131.000 millones de euros (según un estudio publicado en Nature communications). Empresas tecnológicas como Google o IBM, en colaboración con la NASA, e instituciones de la UE y de otros continentes, se han sumado a los objetivos de la Iniciativa Mundial de Alerta Temprana de las Naciones Unidas para la Implementación de la Adaptación al Clima como parte de la Agenda de la Aceleración por el Clima del Secretario General de las Naciones Unidas.
Abstract:
The scientific community is working hard to achieve reliable long-term weather forecasts to prevent adverse events that cost more than 131 billion euros each year (according to a study published in Nature Communications). Technology companies such as Google and IBM, in collaboration with NASA, and institutions from the EU and other continents, have joined the objectives of the United Nations Global Early Warning Initiative for the Implementation of Climate Adaptation as part of the United Nations Secretary-General’s Climate Acceleration Agenda.
